London Trip

Our exploratory walk in London was a great success! We visited the Tate Modern, a renowned art gallery located in central London. It is Britain's national gallery of international modern art.  Tate Modern is based in the former Bankside Power Station, an impressive industrial building that proves to be an incredible source of inspiration.  The Creative Drawing, Sketching & 3D Design students walked through the building, visited the gallery's permanent collections and also visited the Sonia Delaunay exhibition.  Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979) was a key figure in the Parisian avant-garde and became the European doyenne of abstract art.  Her thorough experimentations and use of a wide range of media produced groundbreaking paintings, textiles and clothes.  Her collaborations with choreographers, poets and manufacturers created a unique and versatile body of work that represented her innovative spirit. The students thoroughly enjoyed the gallery, constantly sketching and taking photos, gaining inspiration for their projects!
